Sorrento Bright Future Academy welcomes eligible families participating in Florida’s Personalized Education Program Hybrid option.

PEP Hybrid combines a family-directed Student Learning Plan with structured, in-person instruction at an approved participating school.

Students must attend in person for at least two full school days each week, while their Student Learning Plan addresses instruction completed during the remainder of the week.

Eligible families may use available PEP Education Savings Account funds toward approved tuition and educational services.

PEP Hybrid can be a flexible option for families seeking school structure, teacher support, consistency, and community while preserving an individualized educational plan.

2026–2027 PEP Application Status

PEP scholarship applications for the 2026–2027 school year closed on April 30, 2026.

Families who already received a PEP scholarship or completed an application should check their EMA account for their current award or application status.

Families interested in a future PEP scholarship should check Step Up For Students for updated application information.

PEP eligibility, funding, Student Learning Plan requirements, reimbursement rules, and application deadlines are established by the applicable Scholarship Funding Organization and the Florida Department of Education. PEP Hybrid placement is subject to school approval, program availability, and completion of all enrollment requirements.

Employer-Sponsored Child-Care Benefits

Some employers, including hospitals and healthcare organizations, may offer dependent-care benefits, child-care assistance, employee discounts, or payroll-payment options.

Preschool or qualifying child-care expenses may sometimes qualify, depending on the employer’s plan and the family’s circumstances.

Eligibility and tax treatment may depend on:

  • The employer’s benefit plan
  • The child’s age
  • The type of care being provided
  • The parent’s employment circumstances
  • Applicable federal and state tax requirements

Kindergarten through 12th-grade tuition generally does not qualify as a dependent-care expense.

Families should contact their employer’s Human Resources or Benefits Department to determine:

  • Whether dependent-care or child-care benefits are offered
  • Which school programs and expenses qualify
  • Whether payroll deduction is available
  • Whether any portion may be paid with pre-tax funds
  • What documentation the employer requires

Sorrento Bright Future Academy does not determine eligibility for employer benefits and does not provide tax, legal, or benefits advice. Families should verify eligibility and tax treatment directly with their employer, benefits administrator, or qualified tax professional.
