Pre-K Program | Ages 4-5

Building a Strong Foundation for Kindergarten and Beyond

Our Pre-K program is designed to help children grow academically, socially, emotionally, and physically in a safe and nurturing environment. At this age, children learn best through hands-on activities, structured routines, play-based learning, and caring teacher guidance.

Our goal is to prepare each child for kindergarten while also helping them build confidence, independence, kindness, and a love for learning.

Caring Teachers Who Guide Each Child

Our teachers observe each child's progress and provide support based on individual needs. Children are encouraged to explore, ask questions, practice new skills, and become more independent each day.

Small group lessons, one-on-one support, and classroom routines help students develop focus, responsibility, and confidence.

Learning Through Hands-On Activities

Children develop important early skills across core learning areas:

  • Early Reading and Language: Vocabulary, letter recognition, phonics awareness, storytelling, and early writing.
  • Math Readiness: Counting, number recognition, patterns, sorting, shapes, measuring, and problem-solving.
  • Practical Life Skills: Cleaning up, organizing materials, following directions, and caring for the classroom.
  • Science and Discovery: Nature, animals, weather, seasons, and simple experiments.
  • Social Studies and Culture: Families, community helpers, maps, manners, and respect for others.

Social and Emotional Growth

Pre-K is an important time for children to learn how to express feelings, solve problems, make friends, and show respect. Teachers help students practice kindness, patience, sharing, teamwork, and responsibility.

Children are taught to use words to communicate, take turns, follow classroom expectations, and build positive relationships with classmates.

Fine Motor and Gross Motor Development

Children build fine motor skills through coloring, tracing, cutting, writing, puzzles, building, and hands-on learning centers. Gross motor skills are developed through outdoor play, music and movement, games, stretching, running, climbing, and group activities.

Creative Learning and Outdoor Play

Children enjoy art, music, movement, dramatic play, story time, and creative projects. Daily outdoor play supports healthy habits, teamwork, imagination, and physical coordination.

Kindergarten Readiness

Our Pre-K program helps children prepare by developing:

  • Letter and sound recognition
  • Early writing skills
  • Number sense and counting
  • Listening and speaking skills
  • Following directions and routines
  • Independence and self-help skills
  • Social confidence and respect for others

By the end of the program, children are better prepared for kindergarten structure, expectations, and academic success.

Parent Partnership and a Safe Learning Environment

We believe children do best when parents and teachers work together. We keep families informed about progress, classroom activities, and growth areas through open communication.

Our Pre-K classroom provides a balanced mix of structure, creativity, play, and academic readiness so every child feels safe, valued, and excited to learn each day.
